 When House Beautiful magazine and Thermador team up to host a party at the home of celebrity interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, you know you’re in for a great event! It began at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood with cocktails and hor d’oeuvres and a presentation by Thermador. From there, we were transported through the narrow streets of the Hollywood Hills to the charming 1920’s Spanish home recently renovated by Martyn Lawrence Bullard.  The kitchen, outfitted in Thermador appliances, is this year’s featured House Beautiful magazine’s “Kitchen of the Year”.  The kitchen sink is a stunning masterpiece (and the faucet is gorgeous too).  Adjacent to the kitchen is a very glam bar with a high gloss painted ceiling in painted in Irish Moss by Benjamin Moore.  The open to the kitchen dining room showcases a chandelier by Zia Priven.  The Moroccan inspired screening room is just steps down from the bar area, so great for entertaining!  Thanks to Lulu Powers and her team for providing us with innovative cocktails for the evening!  A threesome in the entry foyer of Martyn Lawrence Bullard’s home, with my friends and fellow designers Kenneth A Boyer and Amy Benton.  Such a surprise and so great to see fellow Material Girls blogger and Houston based interior designer, Lauren Hayden Haskett.

 The 10th anniversary of Legends of La Cienega X took place May 8th-10th in the La Cienega Design Quarter. I’ve taken part in the events since it’s inception, including as an Ambassador one year, and welcomed this year’s events with a fantastic kick off party presented by 1st Dibs hosted at a favorite La Cienega showroom, Dragonette Ltd.  This year’s theme was “Color My World” featuring an artist series coloring-book-style template by over 100 artists & designers. Proceeds from the sale benefit ACRIA Artist Ending AIDS Fund. Fun with friends Monica Orozco of deMonica Photo and fellow designer Michelle Weiss.  Always great to see my friend and designer Jeffrey Johnson!  Among the packed crowd Erik Brown and I are socializing with guests.  My friend Amanda Neistat and guests.  Great seeing Matt Walker and Joshua Carmichael Fearnley of Period Media.
