Home Decorating Ideas On A Budget

Home Decorating Ideas On A Budget
According to reports, a 2000 square-foot residential property will require between 10% - 50% of its actual price to furnish, including interior decorations. Therefore, if your home costs $300,000, you should be ready to dish out another $30,000 up to $150,000 to decorate it. After spending so much already on the initial purchase, it makes sense that you’d want to cut down on costs. This is when to consider these decorating ideas. It will save you money and give you that peace of mind knowing that your home still looks good.
  1. Shop from things you already own

Sometimes, decluttering allows you to rediscover things you can repurpose for the home. This is particularly important where home decoration is concerned. Statistics on clutter shows that 80% of things most Americans hoard are never used until it’s time to clean up. So, there is a high probability that there is something of value in your clutter that you aren't aware of. Shopping from your stuff will help you cut down on costs, mainly because you don’t have to purchase new home decorations.
  1. New colors
A fresh coat of paint to some interior parts can add a new appeal to your home. Maybe your eyes got tired of the same dull hues all around the house, and you want to create new vibrancy in your decoration. First of all, consider the rooms or areas you think will need new hues. If your cooking area appears uninteresting, a fresh kitchen paint color will breathe much-needed life when you decorate the space.
  1. Create a wall of memories
A roll of an averagely designed wallpaper costs about $50. Therefore, if you have a wide area to cover on your wall, you may need more. Instead of spending more money, you have the option to create a gallery wall of memories. Put together all your favorite family photos and have them framed in a wide portrait set. An alternative is to have each print individually framed and put up on the wall.
For more definition and personality, the classic black photo frame will fit on the gallery wall. However, if black is not your thing and you would instead opt for a pop of color, there are gold and bronze frames to consider. It helps to be creative at this point as you must decide on the layout or arrangement of the photos. Some examples are the grid style, asymmetrical, symmetrical, layered look, and the triple frame. To add meaning to your wall of memories, use photos of your adventures, family activities, wedding photos, etc.
  1. Rearrange furniture

This is an old home decorating strategy that costs nothing to carry out. Rearranging your furniture gives your room a fresh new look. Sometimes, an alternative arrangement makes you find space you never thought you had before. However, as you rearrange your furniture, there are simple interior design rules to follow. First of all, don’t push furniture against walls. Secondly, always have a focal point such as a fireplace, entertainment unit, or a prominent window. Furthermore, add visual balance to your arrangement.
Hopefully, now you can work on decorating your home without spending a dime. Indeed, if you’re painting, that will require some purchase, but it’s nothing compared to hundreds of dollars you would have spent on new décor for the home.
