I am currently working on a master bathroom remodel for a client project and thought I would share some info of the design planning process. For this particular project, the client is looking to completely renovate the entire master bathroom. That means, everything goes! Given the bathroom recently had some water damage and it’s a dated bathroom, it only makes sense to gut the entire space. When I first visited the job site, we discussed ideas and I took measurements. The client initially forwarded some of her design inspiration and color scheme pics and from those, I built upon and pulled together some of my own design direction and inspiration pictures. I always start with concept board ideas like these. It helps to create a dialogue with the client, get their feedback on what they may like, or not like. I include notes as to what I see in the images. I also use these images to help create the design, which is the next step with the drawings and selections. To convey the new design plans, facilitate bids, and eventually the actual remodel - a set of design plans are part of the design build phase. These CAD drawings for plan and elevations were provided by M Studio, also a supplier of architectural cabinetry. Above and below are the bathroom elevation drawings by M Studio that include a custom designed 113” wide floating vanity. The drawings are detailed with all the material and finish selections. Below is the concept board featuring the overall look with the bathroom selections. Some of the finds feature plumbing fixtures from Kohler, tile from Dal Tile, quartz countertop by Silestone, lighting from Circa Lighting, and a mirror find from CB2.
